This Serbian teenage sensation is the latest wonderkid in European football and is very likely to play in the Premier League come January Transfer Window. He is linked with a move to Inter Milan, Arsenal and Liverpool but Chelsea look hot favorites to land him as he is reported to favor the European Champions ahead of the other clubs.
Partizan are believed to start negotiations with clubs starting from £8mil which could go to as high as £14m depending on appearances and goals.
There have been many newspapers stating that a deal has been struck between the Serbian club and Chelsea for a sum of £8mil but Partizan sporting director Ljubisa Tumbakovic denied the report. He said :
“I swear on my mother that I really do not know anything about this.
“On Saturday, I spoke with club president Dragan Djuric and he also told me that he knows nothing about Markovic’s transfer to Chelsea.
“I don’t know, he doesn’t know. Maybe the journalists have better information than us in the club!”
After playing for 5 years for the Partizan’s youth team, he was gradually promoted to the senior squad for the 2011-12 season. His fantastic performances throughout the course of the season saw him awarded Partizan’s Player of the Year award.He also made 6 appearances for the Serbian National side and scored 1 goal.
