Arsenal are allegedly ready to make a summer move for Cameroon and Marseille centre-back, Nicolas N’Koulou. The player was linked to Arsenal by Sky Sports recently and many other sources over the last two years.
When quizzed on a Arsenal move, the player said:
“I want to finish the season as high as possible and then it will be time to talk about my future, Leave? I like Marseilles and they were very big with me. If everyone finds his account, I am satisfied “
When you bring in a player from Ligue 1 to Epl there is always a risk factor involved as players tend to take one whole season to settle down. His value to the team can only be judged after that. But according to reports, however N’Koulou is a very good centre-back and can also chip in as a defensive midfielder when needed. Whilst Arsenal need some experience in the back line, they can bring in a player who can perform in several places as they don have a typical holding midfielder.
According to WhoScored, his strengths are passing and concentration, which is always a key for an Arsenal centre-back. They suggest his weak point is aerial duels and perhaps he will be moved into the defensive midfield role by Wenger.
