Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he would be an “idiot” to rush into signing players after his team fell to a 2-0 defeat at Burnley. That seemed to have calmed down the media speculation surrounding Liverpool transfers but on Monday Football Italia has claimed that Liverpool has made a bid for this Roma player.
According to the report, an offer of £18 million was made by the Reds for Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes. The young Argentine player was originally from Boca Juniors and after playing for Roma and Chievo on loan secured a permanent move to Roma for £4 million last season. A very highly rated youngster and midfielder, Liverpool’s interest in him is understood.
However, the strange thing is that Jurgen Klopp has clearly mentioned that his team needs offensive players or more attacking mindset. Linking a defender to Liverpool comes as a surprise where the club already have a decent selection of midfielder. After losing Christian Benteke, one would have thought that the Reds would be looking for a striker.
