The Premier League is packed full of talented young players and there have been some excellent performances from the younger crop of stars this season.
Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial seem to have lost their way a little this year, with chances coming by very rarely, but still remain among the very best talents in the league. Alex Iwobi has been a revelation at Arsenal this season and has become an integral part of the team for Arsene Wenger. Another Gunners’ youngster Hector Bellerin is a big talent, but has had a stop-start season this year, due to injuries and inconsistency in form. Nathan Redmond has emerged as an excellent signing for Southampton this year and has been in great form.
There is also the young Tom Davies who has burst on the scene recently for Everton with some noteworthy displays while Adama Traore for Middlesbrough has earned rave reviews for his performances. Raheem Sterling and John Stones of Manchester City have blown hot and cold over the course of the season, but remain England’s future stars. Here we take a look at the three best youngsters (AGE 17-22) that have made a huge impact for their team this season:
The Tottenham midfielder has had a huge impact ever since his move from MK Dons a season ago. Having taken the Premier League season by storm last term, which saw him win the PFA Young Player of the Season award, the 20-year old has been at it again this term.
Alli started the season off slight slowly this term, but has burst into top form since December and that has coincided with Tottenham’s rise in the league standings. The Englishman has already notched up 11 goals this season and also has 2 assists to go along with it. Having scored 10 goals in his debut season last year, Alli became the fastest midfielder to reach 20 Premier League goals, in the process eclipsing legends like Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.
His impact in the final third and his contribution in Spurs’ recent ascension in the league table has been pivotal and there is no doubt as to he is the best young midfielder in the country by quite some distance.
