After an intense derby at the Etihad, Manchester United are back in action this weekend as they welcome a Swansea City side that is struggling to move out of the drop zone. The Swans took 3 points from their game against Stoke last time around but are still 2 points away from safety. They face a Manchester United side that cannot afford to drop points for the rest of the season if they are to qualify for the Champions League. Mourinho will look for all three points.
Midfielder Paul Pogba and playmaker Juan Mata are both ruled out for this game alongside Timothy Fosu-Mensah who picked up a knock during the derby clash. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are all ruled out for the rest of the season. Midfielder Marouane Fellaini is now suspended and will also miss this tie.
The Spaniard is the first choice shot-stopper for United and he should keep his place in the first team for this game.
Had a decent outing against City and will hope to have a rather easy game this weekend against the Swans.
One of the best players for United against City, Bailly is the only senior centre back fit for United and is an automatic starter.
Though still not at his best, Blind is the best option for Mourinho to partner Bailly at the heart of the defence for Manchester United.
Was left on the bench for the derby and should be fit and ready to take on Paul Clement’s side in the league this weekend.
With Fellaini and Pogba both unavailable, Mourinho cannot risk resting Herrera for this weekend’s Premier League clash against Swansea.
The veteran English midfielder has been terrific this season and with options at a premium, he must start his second game in four days for Manchester United.
Had a quiet night against Guardiola’s side but is expected to be the creator in chief for United in this game against Swansea.
The English star has been effective recently whenever he has been used and Mourinho should consider playing him yet again for this league tie.
Another player who only played from the bench in the derby, Lingard is an exciting addition to the Manchester United attack that misfired at the Etihad.
Put in a terrific shift up front for United against Manchester City and will have an easier game this weekend against a defence that has leaked goals regularly.
