Three Stellar Signings Klopp Can Make With The £100m Transfer Chest
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are not too far away from qualifying for the Champions League next season and need positive results in the two games to finish the season strongly. The manager is already planning for life next season and is looking to add some of the best players in Europe to his squad, to help them compete with the elite next season.
However, they will have to break the bank to sign most of their top transfer targets but according to reports, that should not be a problem. Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce says that the German tactician will be given more than £100m to spend this transfer window. “My guess would be around £120m/£130m but that figure would include sales,” Pearce told the Merseyside news outfit. So who can Liverpool target with this transfer kitty? Here are three stellar players the Reds should spend on this summer:
Virgil van Dijk (Southampton)
The Dutch defender has cemented his place in the league as one of the best in his position and is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs this summer. He is a genuine target for Liverpool as they are desperate to find a centre-back to partner Joel Matip at the back. Van Dijk could cost close to £50m if reports are to be believed but with Liverpool’s new transfer kitty, it should hardly be a problem for them. Surely, Van Dijk is one signing that Liverpool should look to complete this summer.
Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)
The French striker has been one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe for more than a couple of seasons now. He has been in stellar form for Lyon this season in Ligue1 and in Europe and is a wanted man in England. Arsenal are also desperate for an attacker and want Lacazette this summer but Liverpool are now in a position where they can lure him to Anfield, provided they qualify for the Champions League. With money not being a problem, Lacazette could be the one to solve Liverpool’s goal scoring issues against the smaller clubs.
Isco (Real Madrid)
The Spanish midfielder has been frustrated with the lack of playing time at the Bernabeu and with the possibility of Zinedine Zidane planning for a squad overhaul at the end of the season, Isco could be ready for a move away from the club this summer. He will reportedly be offered a new contract but Liverpool can meet his valuation and his wages. With the promise of regular football, they might be able to lure the 25-year old to Anfield this summer. Surely, Isco would turn Liverpool into world beaters.
