Tips To Hull City – Signing These 3 Stars Could Help The Tigers For An Immediate Premier League Return

Three Signings That Hull City Need To Make To Return To Premier League In Their First Attempt

Hull City’s poor end to the Premier League season could not have been timed any worse. With just a couple of weeks to go, manager Marco Silva had the side playing good football and their form, particularly at home, had become rather impressive.

The damage had already been done though and Swansea City, Hull’s biggest rival to avoid the drop, escaped relegation, leaving Hull marooned at 18th place. Given the ownership situation at the club, they cannot expect a cornucopia of top class signings automatically to make them title favourites. Hull will need to be cleverer than that and here we look at three realistic but positive signings the club can make to facilitate their return to the big league again:

Simon Kjaer (Fenerbahce)

The big defender, who made his name at Palermo in Serie A, has gained tons of experience playing in Denmark, Italy, Germany, France and now Turkey. 335 first team appearances have come and gone and the 28-year-old is right at his peak.

If the Danish International wishes to make the move, he would be a great signing for the club would be a shrewd piece of business by the club too.

Mo Diame (Newcastle)

The big attacking midfielder was in the Hull City side which were promoted via the play-offs in 2016, scoring the goal that ultimately took the Tigers to the Premier League. Diame repeated the promotion trick by signing for Newcastle last season and went up as a champion. However, he appears to be surplus to requirements at St James’ Park now.

An unlikely hat-trick could be on the cards for Diame, with promotion very much the target once more for Hull City and he is still capable of helping them achieve it.

Nicolas Pepe (Angers)

Pepe forms part of another Newcastle link in that they were reportedly interested in signing him too. However, it seems wide of the mark, though any admiration they have for him should be seen as a great compliment, with Premier League football now guaranteed on Tyneside and Rafa Benitez overseeing the transfer activities at the club.

The 21-year-old winger is a potential top division player of the future and could just be what Hull need for the season ahead. Defensive reinforcements will be needed of course, but along with Diame in the midfield, Pepe would add the firepower that is essential for a Premier League promotion bid.
