Manchester United Lineup Fitting Gareth Bale Into The Team

Manchester United have yet again been one of the heaviest spenders in the transfer market this summer. They have added the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic to their ranks already but Mourinho is still desperate for a couple of additions, mainly to his attack.

One such player, the Portuguese manager is now desperate for, is Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. The Welsh international was reportedly unhappy with his role at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane and was ready to quit Real Madrid. Mourinho was reportedly ready to fight for his services before the deadline day but admitted after the UEFA Super Cup defeat that it was ‘game over’ in the Bale to United saga.

However, nothing can be ruled out in a transfer window these days and so let’s have a look at how the Manchester United team with the 27-year old in their starting XI might take the pitch.

Formation (4-3-3):

Defence

While David de Gea will start in goal for United, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are expected to be the first choice centre-backs for the side. The experienced Antonio Valencia is currently the best option at right-back for the club and should start there while Luke Shaw will have to fight with the likes of Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo for a place at left-back. Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Matteo Darmian are all expected to be backups for the back line.

Midfield

New signing Nemanja Matic should start as the deepest of the midfielders in the 3-man midfield for Manchester United this season. Spanish star Ander Herrera, who was the club’s player of the 2016/17 season should start on the right-hand side of the midfield while French ace Paul Pogba will hog the left-hand side of the midfield.

The likes of Andreas Pereira, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick are both options from the bench.

Attack

Belgian star Romelu Lukaku is expected to spearhead the attack for his side. Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan should be the first choice on the right flank in the attack while Welsh international Gareth Bale should walk into the first-team on the left-hand side of the attack.

French international Anthony Martial, English stars Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, and Spanish playmaker Juan Mata can all play in these roles when needed. A front three of Lukaku Bale and Mkhitaryan is easily one of the best in the league but can it help them lift the title?

Here is how they might line up:
