Go For It Puel – Leicester City Should Make A Move For Chelsea’s 19-year-old Midfield Sensation

Why Leicester City Should Make A Move For Chelsea’s Teenage Midfield Sensation Kyle Scott

Leicester City are reportedly interested in a move for Chelsea youngster Kyle Scott. The 19-year-old is yet to renew his contract with the Blues and was deemed quite impressive during his performances in the Checkatrade Trophy, especially in the match against MK Dons. The midfielder was expected to leave Chelsea on a loan deal earlier in the summer but the move failed. Now, however, the Foxes have garnered interest in the promising youngster and are quite intent on bringing the teenager to the King Power Stadium.

He is yet to break into the first-team at Chelsea but if he were to join Leicester, Scott is likely to receive better chances of doing that. The Foxes started the season quite weakly and put up a string of disappointing performances, which eventually got Craig Shakespeare sacked. Now, with Claude Puel in charge, they have slowly climbed out of relegation danger but to truly stabilise themselves in the league table, Leicester could use a young talent like Scott in their ranks.

Leicester are in need of adding a solid ball-playing midfielder to boost their chances while going on the offensive and are eyeing Scott as a long-term prospect. He certainly has the skills required to take on the role and under Puel’s watchful eye, the youngster can go a long way in terms of development. The more he plays, the better he will develop and it will be a massive boost for him if he can amass experience at such a young age.

Ever since Danny Drinkwater left the club to join Chelsea, the Foxes have been lacking a creative spark in the midfield. Prior to that, the Blues also took their prized asset N’Golo Kante away from them and with their central midfield partnership gone, Leicester have been greatly struggling in that area. Hence, to target Scott does seem like a step in the right direction since this will be a long-term investment while also providing a fresh dynamism to their team.

As far as Scott is concerned, staying back at Chelsea is unlikely to help him achieve his dream of getting regular game time. The Blues have not been known to allow a lot of time to youngsters in the first-team and for him to break into the first-team seems impossible now since he has quite a number of players ahead of him. Hence, at Leicester, the Scott could get a better shot at making his dreams a reality and the club could also benefit from his services.
