13 goals, 9 assists – West Ham signing this 29-year-old speedster would make them lethal in the final third next season

West Ham opinion: Should the Hammers revive interest in Yacine Brahimi?

West Ham United’s season has been very uneventful and given the amount of money they spent last summer that shouldn’t have been the case. The additions of Issa Diop, Lukasz Fabianski, Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere should have changed the club.

But instead, they found themselves struggling, often faltering. Instead, the Hammers who should have been one of the sides that finished in the final Europa League spot, finished in 10th place instead.

It was only a three-point difference between Wolves and West Ham, but 16 losses for West Ham proved to be far too much of a hurdle in the end.

In fact, things were so bad for the club at the start of the season, where they sat in the relegation zone for the first four games. Things only changed after that for the Hammers and since then, more than anything, it’s shown that the club needs a reliable goalscorer.

With the addition of Felipe Anderson, the club got a brilliant winger. The Brazilian netted 10 goals in all competitions this season, which was only been outdone by Marko Arnautovic.

However, he needs a partner on the other side and neither Michail Antonio nor Yarmolenko has made an impact.

That’s why they need new arrivals in the summer and Yacine Brahimi fits that bracket. The Hammers have been linked with a move for the Algerian star and given his performances, it’s no surprise.

Brahimi finished the season with 13 goals and 9 assists in all competitions. His lethality in front of goal has always been present and that makes it a brilliant move for the Hammers.

The 29-year-old has a lot to give despite his age and West Ham need this in the near future. He’s miles ahead of Antonio and Yarmolenko, and would be a fantastic addition to the Premier League.

Add that to his regular contribution of goals, intelligence in and around the final third, the move is a no-brainer.

Conclusion

Direct, and with a lot of pace to burn, Yacine Brahimi would be a great addition to any team in the world and for West Ham, it’s a move they have to make if they are to find their way into European football.
