2 Everton stars and this searing Norwich City ace – Find out who made it to this PL Team of the Week

Premier League Team of the Week featuring the best from GW2

There were a lot of top performances in the second game week of the Premier League season with Everton and Sheffield United being the big winners from the weekend. Here’s who made it to this week’s Premier League XI.

Rui Patricio – Goalkeeper (Wolves)

The Portuguese number one did not have a lot of saves to make but got Wolves a very important point when he made a fantastic save to deny Paul Pogba. His calmness allows those in front of him to play their game.

Aaron Wan Bissaka – Right-back (Manchester United)

United’s new right-back has been phenomenal in his first two games for the Red Devils and nullified Wolves’ strength from their right wing-back. He won all 7 of his attempted tackles and it looks like nothing will get past him.

Yerry Mina – Centre-back (Everton)

The Colombian international has actually been the more dominant defender among the pairing with Michael Keane. Everton have gone from being a very poor defensive side to the only side in the league to register two clean sheets.

John Egan – Centre-back (Sheffield United)

Egan has been fantastic at the heart of the Blades’ defence and is the one who allows the likes of O’Connell and Basham to push forward and make their overlapping runs.

Lucas Digne – Left-back (Everton)

The Frenchman has continued his form from last season and was involved in the goal against Watford with a fantastic long pass for Bernard to convert and register his first assist of the season.

John Lundtsram – Central midfielder (Sheffield United)

What a journey it has been for Lundtsram after achieving the remarkable achievement of scoring in all 4 of England’s top four divisions. He was a threat all day and Palace were unable to handle him.

Dani Ceballos – Central midfielder (Arsenal)

Arsenal fans have a lot to be excited about as Dani Ceballos had the perfect debut. It wasn’t his two assists that led to him being on this list but his press resistance, defensive work-rate and his creativity. It was a complete midfield performance.

Kevin De Bruyne – Central midfielder (Manchester City)

The Belgian looks like he’s back to his best as he delivered two of his trademark assists against Spurs and should’ve won with all the chances he created.

James Maddison – Left-winger (Leicester City)

Maddison was unplayable at Stamford Bridge as he started dictating everything from his inverted winger position. He set up Wilfried Ndidi for a fine header and should’ve possibly won them the game when he had an open chance of his own making but he was still outstanding on the day.

Sadio Mane – Right-winger (Liverpool)

On a day when Liverpool weren’t at their best, two moments of brilliance from Sadio Mane carried Liverpool through and Liverpool will be hoping for more of the same from him.

Teemu Pukki – Centre-forward (Norwich City)

The Finnish striker has taken everyone by surprise and has carried his form from the Championship to the Premier League seamlessly as he scored a brilliant hat-trick to put the Magpies to the sword.
