Two ideal Premier League destinations for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster
According to reports, Southampton are willing to listen to offers for goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
Forster, 30, who signed a new five-year deal last summer, has not played a game since Boxing Day after being dropped by former Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino due to poor form.
Despite a change in management at St.Mary’s, with Mark Hughes replacing Pellegrino, the English shot-stopper failed to restore his place in the starting XI.
Meanwhile, current Southampton No.1 Alex McCarthy was recently awarded a new four-year deal.
Now that Southampton are ready to sell Forster this summer, here are two Premier League clubs that should consider signing the 30-year-old goalkeeper.
West Ham
It is no secret that Forster has lost his way but he is a highly experienced goalkeeper, having won three consecutive domestic titles with Celtic.
After losing his place at St Mary’s, Forster’s main priority must be to secure first-team football next season and West Ham could offer him exactly what he wants.
West Ham should prioritize signing a new goalkeeper this summer following a disappointing campaign for Adrian and loanee Joe Hart. Due to constant erratic displays from Adrian and Hart, new manager Manuel Pellegrini has signed Lukasz Fabianski. However, a move for Forster could strengthen their forces further.
A commanding presence between the sticks, Forster possesses quick reflexes and good shot-stopping abilities. While he is prone to errors, the 30-year-old remains a decent goalkeeper.
West Ham must act swiftly and make a move for Forster.
Watford
Watford signed Udinese goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis on a season-long loan last summer to compete with Heurelho Gomes for the starting place at Vicarage Road. But Karnezis hardly inspired confidence between the sticks and made a series of errors during his time with the Hornets.
Now, however, his loan has come to an end and Gomes is nearing the end of his career. Hence, Watford need a new goalkeeper ahead of the new season.

To that end, Forster would fit the bill perfectly at Watford. Therefore, Javi Gracia should look to sign the 30-year-old, who could become a long-term successor for veteran Gomes.
