2 Ins, 1 Out – 3 Key Transfer Deals Watford Could Complete This January Including This Arsenal Star

2 Ins And 1 Out – Who Should Watford Sign Or Sell In January?

The upcoming January transfer window will be a pivotal period for a lot of Premier League teams. That will be the time for managers to scout potential targets while also scan their current team to offload some underwhelming players. In that light, the winter window is likely to be an extremely crucial time for Watford. The Hornets have started on the right foot but if they are to continue their brilliant performances until the end of the season, they will need to bring in some reinforcements.

They have been linked with quite a number of players but who will they sign? And more importantly, which of their players should leave the squad? Let’s take a look at one player they should sell and 2 players Watford could sign in January.

OUT – Stefano Okaka

Although Okaka seemed promising as Watford played their first game of the season against Liverpool, he has barely featured for the club ever since. Regardless of what problems he is facing at the club, the fact remains that he is not receiving adequate game time. An exit from Marco Silva’s team could benefit him while also providing scope for the Hornets to raise some extra cash to fund future transfers.

Moreover, the fact that Silva did not deploy Okaka even when Troy Deeney was banned is a major red flag for the player.

IN – Jack Wilshere

Wilshere was one of the brightest prospects in English football a few years back but things have not gone in his favour ever since. In fact, it seems highly unlikely for him to even try to cement his position in Arsene Wenger’s first-team. He has been starved of game time and if he is to salvage his career, he will need to move to a team where he can clock regular minutes on the field.

Given how strong Watford have been this season, a move to Vicarage Road does seem like a good option for the highly-talented Englishman.

IN – Islam Slimani

Slimani has been linked with a move to Watford and the move is expected to happen in January. Game time has been hard to come by for Slimani at Leicester City and he is being aggressively touted for an exit.

Although Watford signed Andre Gray from Burnley, the striker has not lived up to his billing. Meanwhile, Slimani will be eager to get back to playing week in and week out, thus making him a viable candidate to consider.
