2 Liverpool Stars Who Could Be Attracting Extensive Interest In The Summer Window

After a mediocre start to the year, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have found some decent form going into the business end of the season this campaign and the manager will hope that his side can maintain some consistency to finish in the top-4 come end of the season. The manager will be looking to buy some star players in the summer transfer window and will let a few players leave in the summer. Though there are not too many star players at the club at the moment, there are some good players who are sure to attract some interest from clubs around England and also in Europe. Klopp will not be looking to sell too many players but here are two players who could be attracting extensive interest from clubs this summer:

Lucas Leiva:

The veteran Brazil midfielder is currently a utility player at Liverpool for Jurgen Klopp, deputising at centre-back when needed and helping shut shop in the midfield from the bench. He is far from a first choice player at the club and was in fact linked with an exit even before the start of the season. However, Klopp wanted to keep him for another season and rejected advances from more than a few clubs even in January. With Klopp hinting to further strengthen the squad, Lucas might have no place in the first team next season and could be up for sale. At 30, he still has plenty of football left in him and there will be a number of clubs who would be ready to snatch him away. Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Gremio and Inter Milan have all been linked with a move for him recently and most of them might come back this summer to try and lure him. Surely, he will be an in-demand star at the end of the season.

Lucas Leiva has been a great servant for Liverpool.

Mamadou Sakho:

The French defender currently on loan at Selhurst Park could attract interests elsewhere. 26-year old Mamadou Sakho had a life changing 2016 that he would want to forget. From the first choice at Anfield and France at the start of the year, Sakho fell to a place on the youth side at Liverpool and then to a place on the bench at Palace, all in space of 12 months. However, he has made a terrific start to his time at Crystal Palace and is already been receiving some praise for his performances in the recent victory for the Eagles. Klopp could make amends with him and use him next season but he would rather buy a top class alternative, which would leave Sakho with no place in the first team at Anfield. His time at the club could be over and he might be wanted by a number of clubs around England. French club Lille are interested in his signature but the likes of Palace, Sunderland and West Brom will look to lure him away as well, especially after his start for Palace. So surely, Sakho will be a wanted man this summer.

Sakho would be on demand after a good spell with Crystal Palace.
