2 Loan Deals That Could Help Newcastle Get Back On Track This Season Including Man United Youngster

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez

Two Loan Deals That Newcastle United Should Try And Complete Before The Deadline Day

Newcastle United’s story of the summer has been frustrating to say the least. Having earned promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, manager Rafael Benitez was promised by owner Mike Ashley that he would be backed in the transfer market.

But, that hasn’t been the case, resulting in growing frustrations for the Spaniard. The club have brought in some good players in the form of Christian Atsu, Florian Lejeune, Javier Manquillo, Jacob Murphy, Mikel Merino (on loan) and Joselu so far, but it is clear that the manager wants to bring in more new faces. With the budget not seemingly made available, the club could look to get a few loan deals done before the transfer window closes.

And here, we take a look at two loan deals that Benitez and Newcastle should try and complete before the deadline day.

Andreas Pereira (Manchester United)

The Manchester United midfielder has been on the fringes of the first-team for a year or so now, but given the riches at manager Jose Mourinho’s disposal, it does seem unlikely that Pereira would be getting much first-team action at the Old Trafford.

Newcastle should definitely look to take advantage of the situation and explore the possibility of a loan deal for Pereira. The versatile midfielder can play almost everywhere in the middle or in the attack, which will give Benitez a whole lot of options at his disposal. The Magpies do lack someone with guile and creativity in the midfield and Pereira is someone who could make the club’s No.10 spot his own.

The Brazil youth international may not have been able to carve out a place in the United first-team yet, but last season away on loan at Granada, he showed he has the ability to play at the top level and was very impressive in the pre-season tour as well, impressing against the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal)

The left-back position is one of the major concerns for Newcastle United, given that they lack depth in the area. The injury to Paul Dummett in the league opener has just gone on to make the situation direr for Benitez and the club.

A left-back is very much the need of the hour for the Magpies and they should look at the prospect of bringing Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs into the ranks before the deadline day. The England international is surplus to requirements at the Emirates stadium, following the arrival of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke. A proven performer with over 130 outings in the Premier League, Gibbs has the ability to help Newcastle solidify at the back.

Despite his inconsistencies, the 27-year old has the requisite experience at this level and could prove to be a solid addition for the Toon.
