Two Players Who Everton Could Sign Before The Transfer Deadline Day

Everton have been one of the busiest clubs this transfer window as they had to replace their top goal scorer in Romelu Lukaku this summer. They have made a number of signings recently and have also made a decent start to their Premier League campaign. However, Ronald Koeman is still looking for players who can complete his squad and help them compete in four different competitions this season.

This has seen him get linked with a move for some of the finest stars in Europe and here are two such players the Toffees could end up signing on/before the deadline day:

Raul Jimenez (SL Benfica)

Koeman has added the likes of Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez to his attack but still lacks a player like Lukaku, who can score 20+ goals this season. Ramirez is still young and needs time to settle in England, while Rooney is not expected to lead the line in crunch games. This has seen them get linked with Mexico star Jimenez, who is in thumping form in Portugal.

A natural replacement for the departed Belgian, Jimenez is a target man, who can create and score chances. He is a constant threat in the final third with his movement and dribbling abilities, and Everton have already been linked with a move for him this summer. He is 26 and will enter his prime as a footballer soon and in him, Everton can find a long term replacement for the current Manchester United man.

Diego Costa (Chelsea)

The Spanish international is easily one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe at the moment and helped Chelsea to two league titles in his three years at club, in two of which he stood as the top goal scorer for the club. He is tailor-made for the English game but Chelsea decided that he has no place in the squad this season as Antonio Conte has asked him to continue his career elsewhere.

The player is desperate for a move to Atletico Madrid but the transfer ban at the Vicente Calderon means that he cannot sign for them till the turn of the year. He will want to keep his fitness levels up and has been linked with a loan move to Everton recently. Koeman spoke about having him in the team for the first half of the season and if they are to replace Lukaku entirely this season, Costa is one of the few players who can do that.
