2 players Leicester City could loan out before the transfer deadline including this 29-year-old

Two Players Leicester City must loan out before August 31

After a 9th-place finish in the Premier League last season, Leicester manager Claude Puel hasn’t hesitated to break the bank to sign new reinforcements. The new acquisitions have come in and they all look good.

However, the Foxes have been hit hard by the departure of two big names. Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa left the King Power Stadium for greener pastures while Algerian forward Islam Slimani moved on a loan stint to Turkish giants Fenerbahce after not being able to adapt to the Premier League.

As the transfer season comes to an end, manager Claude Puel can choose to offload a few players who are not expected to play a pivotal role in the campaign.

Here are two players who can be loaned out before the window closes.

Danny Simpson

The former Manchester United man was a part of Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City team that won the 2015/16 Premier League title.

The 31-year-old full-back registered 28 appearances for the Foxes last season but is expected to slip down the pecking order following the arrival of Ricardo Pereira in the ranks.

Simpson is a conventional full-back and has his limitations against fast and agile opponents. The 31-year-old is average at best and will not get any better.

Ricardo Pereira, who joined the Foxes from Porto this summer, is a much more adventurous full-back. Not only does the Portuguese international have a tendency to venture forward but also has the ability to play as a right-midfielder. He is just 24 and his reflexes are a lot sharper than Simpson’s.

Claude Puel should be more keen to experiment with the versatile Pereira and that means Danny Simpson won’t be in the mix for a first-team place. The prospects do not look all that bright for Simpson at the King Power Stadium and a loan move would be good for both parties.

Andy King

After making 11 appearances in the first half of the previous season, the hugely experienced 29-year-old central midfielder was loaned out to Swansea City in the winter transfer window.

Leicester City already have a squad packed with plenty of resources in the central areas and Andy King could once again struggle to find a place in the team.

Wilfred Ndidi has signed a new long-term contract with the club and along with Daniel Amartey, is the prime contender for the central midfield spot.

Ndidi and Amartey are two midfield dynamos who bring in a lot of energy and mobility to the team with their work rate, and Claude Puel would have a tough time including Andy King in his plans.

Apart from the African duo, Leicester also have the option of deploying the vastly experienced Spanish midfielder Vicente Iborra, who is capable of playing in a more attacking role.

With plentiful options in the midfield already, the Welshman has a minimal role to play and a loan deal would be appropriate.
