2 Premier League Players Huddersfield Town Should Target This Summer Including This Hull City Star

Huddersfield Must Sign These Players To Continue In Good Shape

Despite sitting six points behind Brighton and with a game in hand, it might be safe to assume that Huddersfield will not be in the Premier League next season.

Cruel? Yes. However, at this moment in time, the harsh reality is that there is less than a 50% chance of them overhauling Brighton or Newcastle and getting into the top 2. If that’s the case, the play-offs beckon.

It’s been a strong year in the Championship so their position is admirable. However, coming up against the likes of Leeds, Reading or perhaps even Fulham would be a very difficult proposition. The play-offs truly are a lottery and right now, it’s more likely than not that Huddersfield will be in the Championship next year.

Assuming this, as well as having David Wagner at the helm, who could the Terriers nab from the Premier League’s current crop?

Aaron Mooy will presumably go back to Man City should Huddersfield not achieve promotion and as such he would leave a massive hole in the midfield.  He’s been outstanding this season and the harsh truth is that without him, they simply cannot expect to reach the same levels next season.

Players of his ability do not come along every season for sides like Huddersfield and they would do well not to be too picky. So even at 30 years of age, Huddlestone could well be the answer. Still, with a classy right foot, Huddlestone has flitted between the two leagues in recent times and for the right price. He would possibly be willing to stay in the Championship should Hull go down.

Hull’s demotion looks likely and, as they have no money, it would unfortunately not be a surprise for them to lose more players next season and Huddlestone will be one player who will be up for grabs.
