2 Sensible Signings That Chelsea Can Make In January, Including This Arsenal Contract Rebel

Two Sensible January Signings That Chelsea Can Make

Antonio Conte’s second season in the Premier League has not been as solid as his first, as his Chelsea side have now lost two of their PL games this season already. The Blues spent big in the transfer market to add some quality players to their lineup but there is still a void in the squad that is surely pulling them down.

The Italian manager could have particular players in mind to solve these issues and though he might have scouted them in the summer, he hasn’t signed them. He is expected to be backed with the financial resources to go hung-ho again in January and there are a number of stars on the club’s radar at the moment. But who should Chelsea really target? Here are two sensible transfer targets Chelsea should look to sign in the winter transfer window:

Luke Shaw (Manchester United)

The English youngster has not been able to establish himself in the first team at Old Trafford in three years and two separate managers. He has suffered from long-term injuries and has not been able to put in performances worthy of attracting some interest in the market.

The likes of Tottenham are still scouting him, however, Chelsea should do the same. The player has loads of quality, which is quite evident and though he is out of form, he is a player who can make things happen. Lack of options on the left-hand side of the defence has seen Conte use Marcos Alonso too regularly for his liking and Shaw, who is out of a contract at the end of the season, will be available for cheap and could solve this issue. Surely, he is a player they should look at come January.

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Though not an easy transfer to get done, Chelsea should definitely make a move for the Chilean winger, who seems uninterested with the proceedings at the Emirates. Having asked Arsenal to sell him last summer, Sanchez failed to engineer a move away from the club and has constantly rejected a contract extension, even with Arsenal ready to break the bank.

Chelsea and Manchester City are closely monitoring his situation along with a few other European giants but Sanchez’s will to stay in London could help the Blues in landing him. Arsenal will want to avoid losing him for free and a decent offer could force them to sell in January. Chelsea should try and capture the Chilean.
