Predicted Fulham Line-up To Face Southampton In The FA Cup
Fulham are right back on form in the Championship now and face Premier League strugglers Southampton in the FA Cup in what could be a famous victory for the West Londoners.
Manager Slavisa Jokanovic has the option of resting crucial players for this one to keep them for the league campaign, or play a strong side in order to gain a win which would give his side huge confidence and keep their momentum going.
I reckon he’ll aim somewhere in between, with only Johansen, Sessegnon, Ojo and McDonald missing out. We may once again see the 4-3-3 shape for this game and I think the manager will be very, very keen to win this game, given his current situation:
Probable Fulham XI
Manager: Slavisa Jokanovic
GK – David Button
It’s probably a toss-up between him and Bettinelli for the role this weekend. Whichever ‘keeper plays though, will be capable of doing themselves justice.
RB – Steven Sessegnon
Another Sessegnon at full-back, anyone? Who knows! Fredericks could probably do with a break and it may mean the young lad getting a chance to impress.
CB – Tomas Kalas
Given that they’re up against Premier League opposition, Jokanovic may well side with his regular centre-back pairing at Craven Cottage.
CB – Tim Ream
Along with Kalas, he would provide an excellent barrier for Southampton to attempt to break, so long as those in front of him aren’t too open.
LB – Dennis Odoi
The other Sessegnon is bound to be left out of this one, keeping him either for the league or for a transfer.
RCM – Tom Cairney
Although I’m still convinced this is not the ideal role for Cairney, he will want to prove himself against a Premier League side and a big performance could be on the way.
CM – Ibrahima Cisse
A rare chance for the defensive midfielder to come in and show what he can do.
LCM – Oliver Norwood
Hasn’t perhaps made the impact many would have hoped for, but he retains plenty of quality and may get a start in this one.
RW – Jordan Graham
The loanee could perhaps be given a shot in the first team with Ojo sitting out.
LW – Neeskens Kebano
Thoroughly capable in this role and he is someone who will relish the chance to prove himself against top-level opposition.
ST – Rui Costa
In and out of the side and not always given the chance to prove himself in the no.9 role, so could perhaps use this game as a platform.
