Murty To Make 9 Changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Rangers Line-Up To Play Atletico Mineiro

Predicted Rangers Line-up To Face Atletico Mineiro In The Florida Cup

Rangers take part in this year’s Florida Cup during their winter break from Scottish football and face Atletico Mineiro first up.

In a game of this nature, it’s almost impossible to know how many players Graeme Murty will use and how he will line them up. However, it’s hoped new signing Sean Goss will get some game time while Michael O’Halloran is said to be ready for game time having been exiled by Pedro Caixinha.

Paperwork allowing, on-loan Andy Halliday may also be allowed to return to the side after Murty ordered his return from Qabala and new signings are wanted in time for the game too. However, without those, it’s likely the boss may go with something like this against the Brazilians:

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK – Jak Alnwick

Liam Kelly will also look for friendly game time, however, Alnwick is a senior player who has waited patiently and may be given the nod.

RB – Lee Hodson

Going on the theory that the boss wants to give game time to some of the reserves, Hodson may well play ahead of Tavernier here.

CB – David Bates

Did really well at the back end of last season in the first-team but needs to get back in amongst it now.

David Bates

CB – Ross McCrorie

Doing fine as a central midfielder in the league but he may be given the chance to break out from the back.

LB – Declan John

There aren’t many options for the Light Blues in this position and John has been playing well since Lee Wallace’s injury.

CM – Ryan Jack

Rangers have options here but they may want to play an experienced squad member alongside Goss in this one.

CM – Sean Goss

The recent signing from QPR is chomping at the bit to get involved with Rangers and is likely to be given game time in this one in order to impress.

RW – Michael O’Halloran

Another player who could be brought in out of the cold by Graeme Murty; O’Halloran may be granted a start against Mineiro.

Andy Halliday

CAM – Jamie Barjonas

Another young player who has been creeping into first-team reckoning and may be allowed the chance to start.

LW – Andy Halliday

Graeme Murty needs options and therefore wants Halliday back. If he is allowed to return from his loan, then he is likely to be fielded in Florida.

ST – Ryan Hardie

Morelos, Miller and others will, of course, get game time as the return to league action draws nearer, though this would be a good chance to see what Hardie can do.
