Klopp To Make 5 Changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Liverpool lineup to face Huddersfield Town

Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face Huddersfield Town In The Premier League

Liverpool’s 18-game unbeaten streak ended last week when they suffered a shambolic defeat to bottom-placed Premier League side Swansea City a week after securing a cherishable 4-3 win over Manchester City to draw an end to their domestic unbeaten run. Jurgen Klopp’s nightmare continued this weekend too when they surrendered unpleasantly to a struggling West Bromwich Albion side in the FA Cup 4th Round tie at Anfield.

The elimination leaves Liverpool with a ‘top-4’ finish as the only realistic hope for the season and they travel to West Yorkshire this Tuesday night to face David Wagner’s newly promoted Huddersfield Town at Kirklees Stadium. Jurgen Klopp, the Reds gaffer, might expect another tough contest against his former assistant.

Team News

The Reds will still be without Nathaniel Clyne, who is yet to return following a back surgery whereas Adam Lallana and Ragnar Klavan might miss the trip due to muscular injuries.

Formation: 4-3-3

Although the recent results have been agonising, Klopp is not expected to alter his set up and should field a 4-3-3 lineup against the Terriers. The front trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are tipped to start unless there are no fresh injury concerns.

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Loris Karius (GK)

Klopp has identified the German as his current ‘No.1’ and Marius will definitely start in goal after a disappointing display by Simon Mignolet in their 3-2 defeat against West Brom on Saturday night.

Joe Gomez (RB)

Gomez has been erroneous in recent weeks but the performance of Trent Alexander-Arnold against the Baggies wasn’t convincing either. Klopp is thus expected to hand Joe Gomez a start and consider him as the prime candidate for the right-back slot until Clyne returns from his injury.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

The disastrous display of Joel Matip against West Brom might force Klopp to opt for Dejan Lovren who captained the Reds in their glorious 4-3 win over Manchester City.

Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutchman was an instant hero following his late winner against Everton but has suffered two back to back defeats now and the fans expect a lot more from him considering the ability he holds to sort out the Reds’ defensive misery. He should once again feature, against the Terriers on Tuesday night.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Moreno was not at all impressive in his return against West Brom and Andrew Robertson seems to have registered himself as the first-choice left-back. He should return to the starting XI this midweek.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)

The skipper had a late cameo against the Baggies and is ready to make his first start since returning from injury.

Emre Can (LCM)

Was not particularly impressive in the last two outings but the German panzer might be preferred in the middle of the park due to his physical presence and combative display in the middle of the park.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (RCM)

The summer signing from Arsenal has been effective but has struggled in the last two outings and would be determined to regain his form if handed a start against Huddersfield Town.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The in-form Egyptian has already grabbed 25 goals this season for Liverpool and has become their main man after Coutinho’s egress. He will taunt the opponent’s defence with his runs, pace and movements in and around the box.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane was scintillating against Manchester City but lacked composure against Swansea City and West Brom. He needs to regain his form and step up his game in order to help his side achieve a Champions League berth for the upcoming season.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

The Brazilian made a calm finish against West Brom but hit the crossbar from the spot. He missed a sitter against Swansea City and despite his work rate and great scoring form this season, the Brazilian needs to be more prolific and clinical in front of goal from now on.
