Three Players Who Liverpool Can Target In The Upcoming Summer Window
Liverpool have been quite influential throughout the season so far. After league leaders Manchester City, the Reds are considered as the team with the best attack. They have been prolific in front of goal this season and although their defence was quite weak, signing Virgil Van Dijk has certainly helped them in that aspect. With Jurgen Klopp at the helm of things, Liverpool have looked so much more solid and they seem to be set for larger things in the near future.
This season, the Reds could make a strong challenge for finishing as Premier League runners-up but once the current campaign comes to an end, they will need more reinforcements. There are still quite a few areas that the Merseysiders need to strengthen and with that in mind, here are 3 players Liverpool must definitely target.
Jan Oblak – Atletico Madrid
The need for a new goalkeeper is quite evident at Anfield. Their defence has been poor but their goalkeepers have been poorer. Both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have been painfully underwhelming in goal and it is imperative for Klopp to now make a move for Oblak, who is one of the most promising and talented keepers at present.
Prying him away from Atletico could prove to be quite an ordeal and Liverpool will have to work at putting together a deal to lure him to Anfield.
Thomas Lemar – AS Monaco
Lemar is quite likely to move to Anfield in the summer. He has been linked with them for almost a year now and he could be the ideal player to fill the void left behind by Philippe Coutinho. He shot to prominence after his stellar performances for Monaco last season as they won the title and Lemar is rightfully regarded as one of the most exciting young attacking talents at present. His pace, creativity and guile could work wonders for Liverpool and is surely an option worth exploring.
Steven Nzonzi – Sevilla
Nzonzi not only has prior Premier League experience but is also an extremely talented individual, who can work wonders for the club. He has proven his mettle for the Spanish club and has been an excellent all-rounder in the midfield. With Emre Can’s impending departure, signing Nzonzi could definitely provide Klopp with greater options in the middle of the park. He can maintain fluidity and control in that area, thus making him a great choice.
