Predicted Rangers Line-up To Face Hearts In The Scottish Premiership
After receiving a drubbing at the hands of bitter rivals Celtic last week, Rangers will be hoping to bounce back when they take on Hearts at the Ibrox Stadium on Sunday.
Graeme Murty’s Gers were thrashed 4-0 by the Hoops at the Hampden Park in the semifinals of the Scottish Cup a week ago and the manager will be intent on inspiring his wards into a strong comeback when the Hearts come visiting.
Rangers currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership, level on points with third-placed Aberdeen and will be keen on widening the distance with a win.
Probable Rangers XI
Manager: Graeme Murty
Wes Foderingham (GK)
The Englishman has made 41 appearances across competitions this season and has been fairly solid between the sticks.
James Tavernier (RB)
One of the Gers’ best players of the season, the right-back’s form has tailed off in recent weeks and he’ll be keen on finding his mojo back.
Bruno Alves (CB)
Following Ross McCrorie’s capitulation against Celtic that led to a red card, the experienced Bruno Alves is likely to be recalled into the defence.
Russell Martin (CB)
The on-loan Norwich City defender had a torrid game last weekend and will want to redeem himself with a strong display.
Declan John (LB)
The Wales international is a big part of the way this Rangers side play, with his constant marauding runs down the left flank. However, he needs to up his defensive game a bit.
Jason Holt (CM)
Following a meek surrender by the midfielders last weekend, changes are very much likely in the middle of the park, with Jason Holt in with a shot against the Hearts.
Sean Goss (CM)
The on-loan QPR midfielder has faded after a spectacular start to life with the Gers since arriving in January. Will want to prove himself on Sunday.
Daniel Candeias (RW)
The Portguese winger did not have the best of the games last week but remains a key part of the team. Leads the assists chart in the Scottish Premiership this season.
Josh Windass (CAM)
The English attacking midfielder was scoring for fun not very long ago but has seen a steep downfall in form. Will want to put up a strong display against the Hearts.
Jamie Murphy (LW)
The loanee from Brighton & Hove Albion has been a great addition to the Gers’ attack. Adds bite to the attack and is a goal threat from the left flank.
Alfredo Morelos (ST)
The Colombian’s finishing was once again called into question last weekend against the Hoops. However, he remains Rangers’ best option up front and has already netted 18 times in all competitions this season.
