Nuno Santo to make 1 important change – Predicted 3-4-3 Wolves XI to face Sheffield Wednesday

Predicted Wolves Line-up To Face Sheffield Wednesday In The EFL Championship

In their match last weekend, Wolverhampton Wanderers became the deserved champions of the English Championship. They have been the best team in the second tier all season and Nuno Espirito Santo has done an excellent job in moulding this squad into a team after so many new additions in the summer.

The owners of the club Fosun International could not be more happy about how the season has gone. However, do not expect big changes this weekend or this team to take their foot off the gas. They would want to break 100-point barrier.

Although they won’t be able to beat Reading’s record of 106, they can get to 104, which would put them above the Newcastle points total from last season. Standing in their way is Sheffield Wednesday, a team who have had a sorry season but are just starting to show some form.

Probable Wolves XI

Formation: 3-4-3

GK – John Ruddy

The former Norwich keeper has had an incredible season between the sticks and in recent weeks, has been a relative passenger as those in front of him have been doing the damage.

CB – Willy Boly

A classy player who is ready for the Premier League, he is the member of the back-three you will see on the ball most often.

Willy Boly

CB – Conor Coady

The real leader of this team. If someone had explained to Conor Coady at the beginning of the season as to how well he would be playing, he may well have not believed them!

CB – Danny Batth

Club Captain Danny Batth has recently come back into the team, replacing Ryan Bennett. For him, these last few games are an audition to prove he is ready to take on the Premier League.

LWB – Barry Douglas

One of Santo’s prized wing backs, Douglas is vital to the way that Wolves play. He managed to grab himself a goal in the previous game.

Ruben Neves

CM – Ruben Neves

The undoubted star of this team, Neves is a Champions League player rather than a Championship one.

CM – Alfred N’Diaye

If there is one place that Nuno Espirito Santo will rotate, it is the central midfield position next to Neves. Alfred N’Diaye brings more physicality than Romain Saiss.

RWB – Matt Doherty

A player who has been in this squad his whole adult life, no one will be more proud to pull on the Wolves jersey once again.

Diogo Jota

RW – Helder Costa

Costa started against Bolton and should hold on to his place here for this game against Sheffield Wednesday.

LW – Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota is a goalscoring machine and will be looking to add to his tally once again. He will be unpicking Premier League defences very soon.

ST – Benik Afobe

Signing Benik Afobe permanently should be Wolves’ biggest priority this summer. The big man from Bournemouth has been a revelation since returning to the Black Country.
