Predicted Cardiff City Line-up To Face Hull City In The EFL Championship
Cardiff still hold a one-point lead over Fulham with two games to go in the race for automatic promotion, but it could have been so much better. Up until the 69th minute against Derby at Pride Park they had the Rams on the ropes and not many inside the stadium would have expected Derby to run out comfortable 3-1 winners by the end.
For Cardiff, they will have to dust themselves off and focus on defeating Hull and Reading to confirm that Neil Warnock’s men will be playing Premier League football next season.
Probable Cardiff City XI
GK – Neil Etheridge
The Cardiff shot-stopper dropped the ball into a dangerous zone for the first Derby goal and will want to improve his performance against Hull.
LB – Joe Bennett
A solid performer for Cardiff, Bennett was not able to control the play once Derby got a foothold in the second half. Will look to get on the ball more against Hull.
CB – Sol Bamba
The big centre-half was Cardiff’s best player against the Rams and will try to lead his side to a victory this weekend.
CB – Sean Morrison
The centre-back has had an amazing season but he will have to put the events of Tuesday behind him after his mistake led to Cameron Jerome scoring his second goal.
RB – Bruno Ecuele Manga
Had a fine game against Derby and is always up for the physical battle. Will try to be calmer on the ball against Hull.
LM – Craig Bryson
The energy of Craig Bryson was missing against Derby and he will aim to make a positive impact for his side this time around.
CM – Aron Gunnarsson
A formidable opponent who loves a crunching tackle, he will be a threat during set-pieces, especially due to his long throws.
RM – Joe Ralls
Ralls is a classy operator, who is the one member of the Cardiff team who can use his passing skill to unlock defences.
LW – Junior Holliet
Undoubtedly the Cardiff player of the season, Holliet was a constant threat against Derby and he will hope to carry on his good form against Hull.
ST – Kenneth Zahore
Was left out against Derby because he had picked up a knock. He didn’t look fully fit when he came on but he should play this game due to Gary Madine’s poor form.
RW – Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
The young attacker gives Cardiff another option going forward and is very good on the counter-attack. One to watch out for in this game.
