Three Players Rodgers Must Axe From Celtic This Summer
Celtic have had the perfect season. Beating Rangers at Celtic Park to win their 7th title in a row was the cherry on the cake and they still have the Scottish cup to play for.
Rodgers has won it all for Celtic but he is building a top quality squad and his aim must be to get as far as possible in the Champions League next season. He will be looking to sign a few more players with talent in the summer transfer window but to do this, he will have to get rid of a few players to balance his squad. These are the three players who he must offload.
A player who has been quite important in Celtic’s season, he has been linked with Bournemouth and Watford recently and Brendan Rodgers must use this interest to raise a little capital to go after some of his summer targets. McGregor has been a massive success story at Celtic but would surely leap at a chance to prove himself in the Prem.
The 26-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Celtic Park, so much so that he has spent the second half of the season this year on loan at FC Middtjylland.
It is a real shame to see the demise of the Danish centre-back, who was absolutely essential in helping Celtic win the domestic treble last season. His injury has really thrown him off track and it looks like Rodgers must allow him to speak to other clubs in the summer.
A very unpopular pick but Brendan Rodgers would be wise to cash in on the star striker this summer. The striker, who has scored 16 goals for Celtic this season, was earlier linked with a move away from the club and would command a very large fee if he were to leave.
It all comes down to whether Brendan Rodgers believes he can use the money to go on and improve the squad in other places. This is one of the big decisions that the manager must make this summer.
