Lukaku and Sanchez to start – Strongest 4-3-3 Manchester United XI to face Chelsea in the FA Cup final

Manchester United will take on Chelsea in the finals of the FA Cup at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s men haven’t been in the best of forms coming into the big game this weekend, having been completely off-colour in their last three Premier League games, in which they won, drew and lost one apiece.

Having finished second in the League, way off the pace behind champions Manchester City, the Red Devils will be keen on signing off on the season on a high, with a trophy in the bag.

Probable Manchester United XI

Manager: Jose Mourinho

Formation: 4-3-3

David De Gea (GK)

Fresh off the back of his first ever Golden Glove win, the Spanish shot-stopper will be hoping to lead his club to a trophy with a solid performance between the sticks.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

The Ecuadorian’s form has been dwindling of late, with his forward forays down the right not yielding the desired results. Needs to up his game on Saturday.

Eric Bailly (CB)

The Ivorian hasn’t been involved much recently but based on his performance in the last league game against Watford, he deserves to be in the line-up.

Antonio Valencia

Chris Smalling (CB)

The England international was rested for United’s 1-0 win over the Hornets this past weekend and should get a recall to the starting XI for the big game.

Ashley Young (LB)

The veteran Englishman has been the preferred option for Jose and United at left-back ahead of Luke Shaw. This is unlikely to change for the finals.

Ander Herrera (CM)

The former Athletic Bilbao man has hit a good patch of form recently and is likely to be tasked with man-marking Eden Hazard, just like he did on a couple of occasions last season.

Paul Pogba

Nemanja Matic (CM)

Going up against his former club, the Serbian powerhouse will be keen on proving the Blues wrong, with a strong display.

Paul Pogba (CM)

Manchester United’s record signing has had an inconsistent season but will need to be at the top of his game against Antonio Conte’s men this weekend.

Jesse Lingard (RW)

The academy graduate has had a solid season for the Mancunians and has established himself as a key player under Mourinho. Will look to stretch the Chelsea defence with his pace and movement from the right flank.

Alexis Sanchez

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Having sat out of the last three games with an ankle injury, the 25-year old striker is expected to be fit for the big game on Saturday and should start ahead of Marcus Rashford.

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

The Chilean international loves playing at the Wembley, having scored 8 goals in 8 appearances for club and country at the stadium, including a goal against Tottenham in the semi-finals last month. Jose will be hoping that the love affair continues on Saturday.
