15 goals and 7 assists – West Brom could strike gold with the signing of this Championship veteran

Why West Brom getting Albert Adomah will be a good move for them

Recent reports have claimed that WBA are interested in Albert Adomah from arch-rivals Aston Villa. A move is looking especially likely if the Baggies part ways with Matt Phillips, who is a target for Middlesbrough.

If West Brom make a bid, it might be accepted because of Villa’s dire financial situation. But let’s look at the player himself, and analyse whether he’d be a good signing for Darren Moore’s side.

The 30-year-old scored 15 goals and provided 7 assists as Villa made it to the playoff final, eventually losing to Fulham. However, the winger was one of their top performers throughout the campaign and thoroughly deserved all plaudits coming his way.

Albert Adomah

Adomah started his career at Harrow Borough before moving to Barnet. After playing some great football for them, he secured himself a deal at Bristol City. Three great years at Ashton Gate were followed by another three in a Middlesbrough shirt. Since 2016 the 18-times capped Ghana international has been a part of the Aston Villa setup.

WBA need experienced warriors to help them fight their way up to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Adomah is definitely an option – he has made a total of 336 Championship appearances, scoring 57 goals and providing 59 assists.

The London-born player has many strong characteristics about his game. To name a few, his pace is something that needs to be highlighted.

He can be quite creative at times and knows exactly how and where to cross a ball. And last but not least, Adomah boasts a decent goalscoring record, which could prove crucial for the Baggies.

Something else that shouldn’t be underestimated is the fact that the player is quite fit. So far Adomah has never had serious injury issues, which is important in a long and difficult second-tier campaign.

With lots of speculation surrounding the winger, West Bromwich Albion should act fast if they want to sign him. So far, Darren Moore has added to his squad goalkeepers Sam Johnstone, Jonathan Bond, and defender Kyle Bartley.

A bunch of players left the Hawthorns after the relegation, which left the squad unbalanced. For example, Moore has two centre-backs and four left-wingers and to be fair, there are enough options on the right-wing as well. Matt Phillips, Oliver Burke and Jonathan Leko are all available, so a move for Adomah doesn’t make a lot of sense.

However, if Phillips really leaves, WBA should go for the Aston Villa winger. They’ll need his experience as Burke is just 21 and Leko, 19.

Adomah would be a good addition to any Championship side. And if Moore thinks he needs him, he should go for him.

  1. I think that everything published made a lot of sense. However, consider this, what if you added a little content? I ain’t saying your content is not good., however what if you added a headline that grabbed people’s attention? I mean BLOG_TITLE is a little boring. You should peek at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create article titles to get viewers interested. You might add a video or a related picture or two to grab readers interested about everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it could bring your website a little livelier.

  2. I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you create this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you? Plz respond as I’m looking to create my own blog and would like to find out where u got this from. kudos

  3. Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to understand a lot approximately this, like you wrote the ebook in it or something. I think that you simply could do with some p.c. to power the message home a little bit, however other than that, that is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.
