Adkins to make 1 important change – Strongest 4-4-1-1 Hull City line-up to face Ipswich Town

Predicted Hull City line-up to face Ipswich Town in the Championship

Hull City have made a mediocre start to this season and are languishing perilously close to the relegation zone in the Championship. Out of the six games played, the Tigers have won one, drawn one and lost four, which sounds like a bad start.

Manager Nigel Adkins should get his side back on track before the campaign resumes this weekend against Ipswich Town. The good thing for him and the team is that it is a home game. They probably need the home support to encourage them even though the performance level hasn’t been good.

Team News

Jackson Irvine is the only player who seems to be in doubt for the weekend. Tommy Elphick might be handed his Hull debut, with Reece Burke likely to make way.

Probable Hull City XI

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Manager: Nigel Adkins

David Marshall (GK)

Marshall has done well in certain games to keep his team in it. Expect a similar performance from him.

Eric Lichaj

Eric Lichaj (RB)

Lichaj has been up and down in terms of his level of impact. He should probably get better though.

Tommy Elphick (CB)

The Aston Villa loanee could be handed his debut in this game. He should start in central defence.

Jordy de Wijs (CB)

Just like his team, de Wijs has been inconsistent at the back. Adkins should be hoping for more.

Stephen Kingsley (LB)

Kingsley needs to add more stability to his overall game and become better at both ends of the field.

Todd Kane (LW)

The youngster should be expecting himself to contribute in the attacking side of things.

Stephen Kingsley

Daniel Batty (CM)

Central midfield is where the control of the game lies and Hull haven’t been able to manage that. Hence, Batty and Henrikson should do better in the coming games.

Markus Henrikson (CM)

As mentioned above, the midfield pairing should contribute more to both facets of the game and not get dominated easily.

Jarrod Bowen (RW)

Has been one of the better players compared to the low standards set by his teammates.

Evandro

Evandro (CAM)

The Brazilian has been erratic so far. He got sent off in one of the games and hasn’t been able to make an impact.

Fraizer Campbell (ST)

Campbell hasn’t got the service he needs to score goals and test the opposition goalkeeper on a regular basis. Should start this game.
