Predicted Wolves line-up to face Manchester United in the Premier League
Newly-promoted Wolves have started this season well – winning two, drawing two and losing one of the five league games played. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have played some very eye-catching football, which is quite contradictory to what people generally think of a newly promoted team in the Premier League.
Wolves now travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. It certainly won’t be easy at the Theatre of Dreams, but we can never count out any team in a league such as the English top-flight.
Ivan Cavaleiro has a back issue which keeps him out of action. Apart from that, Nuno has a full squad to choose his line-up from. Expect the Portuguese to stick with the same team which made easy work of Burnley.
Probable Wolves XI
Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo
Rui Patricio (GK)
The Portuguese international has been superb in goal since his summer move to the club.
Ryan Bennett (RCB)
Wolves’ back-three have been solid and good on the ball and Bennett is a part of that.
Conor Coady (CB)
The captain has led the team very well, commanding the back-line and spraying sumptuous diagonals.
Willy Boly (LCB)
Boly has been good just like his defensive partners. Very good on the ball and is defensively sturdy.
Matt Doherty (RWB)
The buccaneering wing-back is an outlet for attacks and tracks the run diligently. Does everything on higher intensity.
Joao Moutinho (CM)
The midfield enforcer and a calm head in central congested areas of the pitch. This may just prove to be the bargain of the summer.
Ruben Neves (CM)
A 21-year-old gem who keeps on performing at a higher level week on week. Wolves fans would hope he stays at the club for a long time.
Just like his wing-back partner, Jonny has been very good for the team. Expect him to match the stride against Manchester United.
Helder Costa (RW)
The winger has shown pace, guile and space awareness in the wide areas of the pitch. A certain starter in most games.
Raul Jimenez (ST)
The Mexican scored the goal against Burnley and looked very good leading the line. A good signing by Wolves.
Diogo Jota (LW)
Jota has been good despite not producing in terms of numbers on the board. His runs, clever passing and high pressing are very impressive. An integral cog in the wheel.
