Pochettino to make 8 changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham XI to face Huddersfield Town

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur line-up to face Huddersfield Town

It took Tottenham Hotspur a nervy penalty shootout to get past Watford in the League Cup. The Hornets took the lead in the second half but two quickfire goals from Dele Alli and Erik Lamela turned the tables in Spurs’ favour before former Tottenham man Etienne Capoue equalised just before the final whistle.

The Lilywhites return to take on Huddersfield Town in the Premier League this weekend. The Terriers have looked dreadful so far and this will be a relatively easier fixture on paper for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Team News

Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm are still out, which means Paulo Gazzaniga will continue in goal.

Probable Tottenham Hotspur XI

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Paulo Gazzaniga (GK)

He has looked decent but the Lilywhites need Hugo Lloris back soon.

Kieran Trippier (RB)

Trippier was unable to exert his influence in the last game, but his set-piece deliveries are always known to cause havoc.

Kieran Trippier

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian looks a renewed and confident player this season. He has been a rock at the back so far.

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

Vertonghen will partner his compatriot in central defence. They have looked cohesive together.

Danny Rose (LB)

Rose was rested for the midweek clash and will return at left-back in place of Ben Davies for this game.

Eric Dier (RCM)

Dier has looked poor so far and really needs to show more urgency in the middle of the park.

Mousa Dembele (LCM)

The Belgian has seen a slight dip in his form but it’s not something he can’t overcome. Dembele’s defensive work has always been a massive asset for Tottenham.

Son Heung-Min (RAM)

Son has proven to be a very potent force for the Lilywhites in the last two seasons. A crucial player.

Christian Eriksen (CAM)

The Dane was unable to pull the strings against the Seagulls last weekend. It’s very rare to see Eriksen have a bad game and there’s every chance he’ll explode to life in this one.

Dele Alli (LAM)

Alli has looked good after returning from a minor injury, scoring a goal in the game against Watford. He should start this match as well.

Harry Kane (ST)

Kane seems to be struggling to score from open play. But the England captain might pop up with one of his hat-tricks at any given time.
