Predicted Hull City line-up to face Leeds United in the Championship
A struggling Hull City face a slightly out of form Leeds United at home this midweek in the Championship. Nigel Adkins’ men were very good against Middlesbrough this weekend though, holding them to a credible 1-1 draw at the KCOM Stadium.
They now face a Leeds team who are labouring to win games in the past few weeks after making an unreal start to the season. Hence, Marcelo Bielsa’s men would come to Hull in search of a victory. The home side need to be at their best to thwart their opponents on Tuesday night.
Ondrej Mazuch is back in training but may not be included in this game. James Weir, Daniel Batty, Angus McDonald, Goebel Evandro and Jordy de Wijs are all out of action. Adkins is short on squad depth at the moment, with so many players on the injury table.
Probable Hull City XI
Manager: Nigel Adkins
David Marshall (GK)
One of the best players this season for the Tigers. His saves are important to their fortunes in certain games.
Eric Lichaj (RB)
Started at left-back against Boro. But expect him to slot in at right-back on Tuesday.
Reece Burke (CB)
With de Wijs out injured, Burke could switch from right-back to centre-back.
Tommy Elphick (CB)
The Aston Villa loanee needs to lead this team from the back due to an unfortunate to de Wijs.
Stephen Kingsley (LB)
Was left out for the weekend’s game after a string of poor performances. Expect him to be back.
Jackson Irvine (CM)
Irvine has been decent in whichever position he’s been asked to play. This time though, he should start in the midfield.
Markus Henriksen (CM)
This is the time for the skipper to step up and get his team to play at a higher level than they are doing right now.
Kamil Grosicki (LW)
Started a game after a long time and did well against a very good Middlesbrough side. Expect him to keep his place.
Todd Kane (RW)
The Chelsea loanee has been one of the better performers for Hull this season. He should start this game.
Jarrod Bowen (CAM)
The youngster, just like Kane, has been one of the best players for the team this campaign. Scored a goal in the last game and did well in his new No.10 position.
Fraizer Campbell (ST)
The striker was left out of the last game. The manager may give him a start this time and hope for a reaction.
