Andre is the son of ex-Tottenham star Jason Dozzell, who played 89 times for the north London club and 340 times for Ipswich Town. Hence, Spurs going after the player surely has something to do with family connection and the talent it produces.
Here’s everything you need to know about Andre Dozzell before he becomes a subject of bidding raid by clubs:
Scout Report – Andre Dozzell
Age – 19
Position – Central and attacking midfield
Current Club – Ipswich Town
Dozzell is a product of Ipswich Town’s youth academy. He grew up playing junior-level football in the club and slowly developed himself into a fantastic player. In April 2016, he was rewarded for his fine form with the club’s Academy Player of the Year Award. Therefore, it is pretty evident that the 19-year-old has been a regular performer at his current level.
On 16th April 2016, he made his professional Ipswich Town debut in a Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday. The youngster came on as a half-time substitute in that game and scored the equalizing goal for the team in fabulous circumstances. Scoring on his senior debut at such a tender age undoubtedly showed signs of maturity.
Unfortunately, Dozzell tore his Cruciate Ligament during the 2017/18 season’s opening game against Birmingham City, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign. He has now made a comeback and looks good to rebuff all the lost time.
Attribute-wise, the 19-year-old is a combative box-to-box midfielder who can pass the ball with accuracy, find spaces in tight areas and go past people to open up space either for a shot or a pass towards the goal.
Dozzell can fit the high-intensity styles of both Tottenham and Arsenal. He has a brilliant footballing mind that helps him work as an excellent midfielder with an eye for the goal. The 19-year-old is certain to be a big English star in the future.
