Two classy January signings who are capable of pushing Bournemouth to a top six finish including Chelsea starlet

Eddie Howe

Two players Bournemouth must sign in January to beef up the squad

Bournemouth are flying in the Premier League at the moment as Eddie Howe’s men thrashed Watford last weekend to enter the second international break all smiles.

The Cherries battered Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road to record back-to-back wins in what has been the south-coast club’s best start to a Premier League season. With the victory over Watford, Howe’s team moved to sixth place in the Premier League.

In one sense, it is natural for a team like Bournemouth to challenge for the top six following the signings Howe made before the start of the season. David Brooks has scored in back-to-back games against Crystal Palace and Watford, Jefferson Lerma has become a vital cog in the engine room and Diego Rico is slowly finding his feet in the Premier League.

Truth to be told, Bournemouth don’t have world-class talents or superstars in their ranks. It is Howe’s managerial class that has got the best out of players, making the team play an exciting style of football.

However, Howe still needs a couple of more players to mount a significant challenge for the top six this season. Hence, here are two players Bournemouth must consider signing in January.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea)

Bournemouth have a really talented bunch of players capable of giving any Premier League club a run for their money. However, they lack a creative midfielder in the squad and Eddie Howe could do a terrific job if he manages to land Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan in January.

Ruben loftus-Cheek

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has found first-team opportunities hard to come by this season and a move to Bournemouth on loan could be a beneficial one for all parties involved in the deal.

The England international is a technically gifted central midfielder who would greatly improve Bournemouth’s midfield, which has struggled to assert itself at times this season. Howe would do a lot worse than launching a loan bid for Loftus-Cheek in January.

Jeffrey Bruma (Wolfsburg)

Nathan Ake and Steve Cook had formed a formidable partnership at the heart of the Bournemouth defence this season. Ake and Cook have complemented each other very well as Howe continues to place his faith in them.

However, Howe should add depth to his defensive ranks by signing Wolfsburg’s Jeffrey Bruma. Extremely solid, good in the air and comfortable on the ball with a decent turn of pace, Bruma has the attributes to succeed in the Premier League.
