Swansea City’s promotion push would gain weight if they sign this powerful Watford attacker in January

Why Swansea City should definitely make a move for Isaac Success

Swansea City are now on the back of a two-game winning run and will be aiming to make their way back into the playoff spots. Graham Potter’s men have looked good in the last few games and are very much in contention for making the climb next season.

However, the club could use another striker in its squad. Swansea City have scored just 17 goals in the league this season with most of the burden falling on striker Oliver McBurnie. The 22-year-old has also looked inconsistent at times and with Wilfried Bony still out injured, Graham Potter should aim to bring in another striker.

The Swans can take a look at Isaac Success. The Watford striker has quietly been making a name for himself this season. Though not a regular in the Hornets team, the Nigerian striker always tends to deliver when called upon.

He seems to have upped his game under new manager Javi Gracia after a couple of mediocre seasons in the Premier League. Success has scored just 2 goals in the Premier League for Watford so far, with one of those coming in the last game against Huddersfield Town.

But the 22-year-old does have 2 League Cup goals in 2 starts this season. Swansea City could definitely use a striker with his attributes. Success possesses pace, power and the energy to hassle defenders in the final third. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

He is also good at timing his runs in the box and a perfect example was his goal against the Terriers which the Nigerian managed to score after coming on as a substitute late on. He definitely isn’t polished or catchy to the eye but he is very clinical in front of the goal.

Success will definitely thrive playing in Graham Potter’s 4-2-3-1 formation which the manager has extensively used this season. With the pace he possesses, the likes of Bersant Celina and Connor Roberts will have ample opportunities to release the ball into space for the striker to latch onto.

His arrival would also reduce the burden on striker Oliver McBurnie and will provide the Swans with a more cutting edge in the final third. Swansea City are definitely going to need one or two signings more in order to fight their way back into the Premier League.

Graham Potter must definitely make the move for the Nigerian when the transfer window opens in January. Watford will surely be hesitant to part ways but the prospect of offering regular football might do the trick for the Swans.
