Top-class Richarlison, Superb Keane – The best & the worst rated Everton stars in the 3-1 win vs Brighton

Everton Player Ratings vs Brighton – Here’s how the Toffees fared

Everton returned to winning ways by beating Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 at the Goodison Park in a Saturday afternoon fixture in the Premier League. Richarlison scored a brace, while Seamus Coleman netted a brilliant goal to win all three points for Marco Silva’s men. Lewis Dunk scored for the visitors but it turned out to be a consolation at the end.

The Brazilian scored in each half to take his tally to six for the season – an impressive start to life in the Merseyside. Brighton centre-back Dunk equalised in the 33rd minute after Everton had taken the lead, however, it was not to be for the Seagulls as Coleman and Richarlison did the damage in the second half.

Everton Player Ratings

Jordan Pickford (7)

Didn’t have to do an awful lot apart from conceding a goal. His distribution was a delight at times.

Seamus Coleman (7.5)

Offered a great deal going forward to cause trouble to the Brighton defenders. Scored a very good goal to restore the team’s lead. Was a little suspect defensively.

Michael Keane

Michael Keane (8)

A dominant presence throughout the game and his range of passing was phenomenal. A resurgent Keane.

Kurt Zouma (7)

Was caught out when Dunk scored the goal, however, he was dutiful throughout the game, dominating the Brighton attackers.

Lucas Digne (7.5)

Was a constant menace up and down the pitch. The important thing was he looked defensively solid.

Idrissa Gueye
Idrissa Gueye

Idrissa Gueye (8)

His tackles and interceptions in the vital areas of the pitch are so important to this Everton team. A great game from the Senegalese.

Andre Gomes (8)

Another very good performance from the loanee from Barcelona. His use of the ball and defensive contributions have been terrific.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (7)

Missed two really good chances, played a role in the opening goal and always looked to create things.

Theo Walcott (6)

The ex-Arsenal man tried to make things happen with his pace and direct runs but his final product was lacking. A much-improved display though.

Bernard (6.5)

The Brazilian was quiet throughout the game but produced some moments to cause trouble. He was involved in the first goal.

Richarlison

Richarlison (9)

A fantastic performance from the Brazilian. Two well-taken goals and looks a real live-wire up front for the Toffees.

Substitutes

Ademola Lookman (Subbed on after 68 mins) (6)

Not a lot of time to really stamp his authority in the game but showed the commitment to change the dynamic.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Subbed on after 85 mins) (N/A)

Didn’t have much time to make an impact.
