This 6ft 3in towering Frenchman is a necessity for Everton if they are to achieve a top-6 finish this season

Why Everton should make a move for Sebastien Haller in January

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Sebastien Haller has surprised many with his goalscoring exploits in the Bundesliga this season. The Frenchman has been in excellent form in front of the goal this season, scoring 9 goals and assisting a further 8 in 17 league games. Furthermore, he has directly contributed to 17 goals in the Bundesliga, forming a deadly partnership with Luka Jovic and Ante Rebic at Frankfurt.

Given the sizzling form that Sebastien Haller has displayed in the Bundesliga, Everton must make a January swoop for him.

A striker has become a necessity for Everton with attackers Cenk Tosun, Bernard and Oumar Niasse failing to leave up to expectation. Tosun, in particular, has failed to produce the goods for which he was bought from Besiktas earlier in January. With the Toffees severely lacking quality striking options, Marco Silva should look to improve his squad in January.

Due to lack of options up front, Silva’s side are now left with no choice than to move for additions as they are currently struggling to win games consistently after suffering an embarrassing defeat to Tottenham at the weekend. Although Everton bounced back with a 5-1 thrashing of Burnley, the Merseysiders simply cannot ignore their weaknesses.

One of Everton’s big weaknesses is the lack of a clinical goalscorer and that’s where the signing of Sebastien Haller comes into the picture.

At a height of 6ft 3in, Haller would give Everton a much-needed focal point in the attack. The Frenchman is a tall, strong and aerially dominant forward, blessed with a good technique and a fantastic first touch. Despite possessing a burly frame, he has a good turn of pace that makes him such a reliable attacking outlet for teams during counter-attacks.

Haller is excellent at holding up play and brings his teammates into play. He is an all-rounder who not only is a deadly finisher in front of the goal but is also is adept at slipping through incisive passes for his teammates in the final third.

A physically robust forward, the former Auxerre and FC Utrecht man is known for his quick feet, good close control and unpredictable movement in the final third and can be a handful for any opponent on a given day.

Blessed with great power and an eye for goal, the Frenchman could give Everton a different dimension in the attack and combine excellently with the likes of Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott in the final third.

Haller is ripping defences apart in the Bundesliga at the moment and clearly has the potential to play in the Everton team. Hence, Silva should consider the towering Frenchman in January if he intends to finish in the top six.
