Everton opinion – Toffees should sign Che Adams in the summer

According to Lancashire Live, Premier League side Everton are expected to make a move for Birmingham City striker Che Adams. The Toffees chief Marcel Brands believes the 22-year-old would be a good addition to Marco Silva’s team.

Adams has been in great form in the Championship this season. As a result of that, he has attracted interest from several clubs in the top-flight (h/t Lancashire Live).

With Everton almost certain to buy a striker in the summer window, (h/t Telegraph) the Birmingham City man is on those on the shortlist.

Here’s why the Toffees should spend the money and get him to Goodison Park ahead of next season:

Adams’ ruthlessness could be of great help

Che Adams has scored 22 goals and supplied 3 assists in 40 league appearances this season. Hence, it is pretty clear that he doesn’t mess about when a chance comes in the opposition box.

Other than scoring goals, the 22-year-old has exceptional pace, which he exercises to stretch the defence. He has made 1.5 key passes on average, epitomising his willingness to link up with fellow forwards and attacking midfielders. (Whoscored)

In terms of testing the opposition goalkeeper, Adams is always in and around the box, waiting to have a shot at goal and challenge the keeper’s handling of the ball.

All in all, he would be an ideal addition to an Everton team who don’t seem to get enough goals out of their strikers. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is doing a good job up front but he lacks confidence in front of goal.

Furthermore, Marco Silva’s men cannot rely on the likes of Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson to be their main goalscorers.

This was highlighted in their game against Arsenal at Goodison Park. The Toffees dominated that game and should have won it by more than a one-goal margin.

This is where a clinical striker comes in handy. He will finish the chances early in the game and decide the result.

Conclusion

It is a no-brainer that Everton would be a better side with a ruthless striker up front. Hence, getting Che Adams wouldn’t be a bad idea.
