There has always been a cold war between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho right from the time the Portuguese manager took charge of Chelsea back in 2003. After several exchange of comments between the two managers, Mourinho took matters to the next level when he claimed that Wenger is a ‘specialist in failure’ back in February responding to Wenger’s comment on Mourinho’s fear to fail.
However, things have not gone well for the Blues this season. After taking a comfortable lead at the top of the table overcoming Manchester City and Arsenal, Mourinho failed to capitalise on it and subsequently lost his position at the top. Yesterday’s loss against Atletico Madrid meant that Chelsea are almost certain to go empty handed this season unless Liverpool and Man City slip up in the coming weeks.
Arsenal fans took to Twitter to react Mourinho’s loss yesterday. And one fan went ahead and pointed out the £272,440,000 million Mourinho spent in the last 4 years to win just 2 trophies. (Although we are not sure about the accuracy of the stat, it does look frightening)
