3 Partnerships That Will Set The Premier League By Storm For The Rest Of The Campaign

Winter is not known for high-profile transfer deals. This season, however, is an exception as we have witnessed some sensational transfers mostly related to Premier League. Liverpool have lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £142m but acquired long-term target Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton and made him the world’s costliest defender following his £75m switch.

Manchester United, however, have completed the most intriguing deal by wrapping up Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal by offering Armenian attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan in exchange. The Gunners are also close to announcing the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, who will now link-up with his former teammate Mkhitaryan at the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to a deal of £25m for PSG’s Lucas Moura, whereas league leaders Manchester City are set to unveil Athletic Bilbao’s French centre-back, Aymeric Laporte. Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions, have struggled to acquire their preferred transfer targets and despite bringing in Ross Barkley from Everton, the Blues are still in search of a prolific forward.

A few deals, however, are likely to leave a massive impact from the attack perspective and the clubs will immensely benefit from some exciting new partnerships. The fans are eagerly waiting to witness their mastery and are expecting an influence in order for the club to achieve their season objectives.

Here are 3 partnerships that could set the Premier League on fire for the rest of the season:

Lucas Moura & Harry Kane

Heung-min Son has been sensational down the left flank but the North Londoners lack a prolific winger on the opposite side and have used Christian Eriksen in a make-shift role which, meanwhile, has restricted the Danish international’s natural movement and creative game.

The Brazilian is reportedly close to joining Tottenham Hotspur and will fit in on Spurs’ right flank. Hitman Harry Kane has already bagged 21 goals as he and Son have formed a lethal attacking force up front. Now the PSG star will terrorise opponents from the other flank if he joins Tottenham and it will be an extremely tough task to restrict the deadly trio.

Alexis Sanchez & Romelu Lukaku

The Chilean netted 30 goals last term for the Gunners but was a shadow of his earlier self this term at Arsenal amidst contract conundrum. He finally concluded a move and joined Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United earlier this month.

Alexis Sanchez

The Red Devils have often struggled to score enough goals as Romelu Lukaku has let his side down on many occasions despite a scintillating inception. Sanchez’s presence will create more opportunities for the high-profile summer signing and the duo will help Manchester United to be in contention for cup glory during the remainder of the campaign.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang & Henrikh Mkhitaryan

The Gunners might have lost Alexis Sanchez to league rivals Manchester United but reacted in a better way by capturing Mkhitaryan. Henrikh’s ex-Borussia Dortmund teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to completing a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

This would probably be the best piece of transfer business of the season, as the duo share some cherishable memories in the past. Their chemistry earned the German giants plenty of credits. The understanding between these two will help the North Londoners to settle in quickly and fight back to reclaim a Champions League berth.
