3 Manchester United Players Who Could Benefit From A Loan Move This Summer

Manchester United announced last month that Jose Mourinho will be taking charge of the club from this summer. the Portuguese comes in with an impressive CV, however he will be well aware of the fact that United fans have grown frustrated seeing their side surrender their pride over the last three years and nothing but success will be expected come next May. The Portuguese coach is slowly starting to stamp his authority on the club, he has already brought in three quality signings who can definitely help in improving United’s performance from last year. In Zlatan Ibrahimovic, United have got a proven world superstar who will definitely raise their game.

With every new arrival, there is also the case of people leaving the club in order to make space for the new arrivals. With a new manager at the helm many players will be feeling the pressure in the coming few days. His predecessor, Louis van Gaal, was praised from his promotion of youngster from the club’s storied academy system but the likes of Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah only got a chance due to injuries and suspensions. It is essential for Mourinho to pick his youngsters carefully and send those out on loan, who need more playing time before they can consider themselves in contention for first team.

Adnan Januzaj

Januzaj burst onto the scene during David Moyes disastrous season. However after Louis Van Gaal took charge, the Belgian soon found himself out of favour. He spent the first half of last season on loan to Borussia Dortmund, where he featured in only six times for the black and yellow. Although he cut his loan move short and moved back to United in January. He made only 5 appearances for the club, and never looked like challenging for a starting spot. Mourinho will need some time to figure out what the future holds for the 21 year old, therefore it will best if he is sent out on loan this summer, where he can get more playing time.

Juan Mata

Mourinho is unconvinced by Mata’s stamina, pace and, crucially, his defensive ability, and the club’s recruitment of right-sided attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan is ominous for Mata, who was mainly deployed on the right wing by Louis van Gaal over the past two seasons. The Spaniard was forced to move to Manchester United, after Mourinho found him surplus to requirements at Chelsea. However he has done well since that move and therefore Mourinho would be wise to spend the Spaniard on loan this summer, where he can properly assess his value to his plans for the future.

Paddy Mcnair

Mcnair was given some game time by Van Gaal amid a lack of defensive options. The versatile Northern Irishman can play across the back line and in midfield, may find regular opportunities hard to come by this season. However he has proved to be assured whenever he has been given an opportunity therefore its wiser for United to send him out on loan this summer, somewhere where he will feature regularly and develop as a player.
