Just Like The Breezy Brazilian – Three Neymar-like Signings That Manchester United Can Pull Off This Summer

The Premier League is easily the richest league in Europe and until a month ago, they fittingly held the record transfer deals ever for a club in the world of football. However, not so long ago, the shackles were broken as French giants Paris Saint Germain managed to meet Brazilian star Neymar Jr release clause of €222m, to lure him away from the Camp Nou and establish a new record.

The previous owners of the record, Manchester United, will now be under pressure to get back their status but it is hard to see them stomp out more than that value for any player in the current transfer market. However, they might yet break their own record from the previous summer and here are three options that might help them achieve the same this summer or the next.

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

The Welsh international is easily one of the best wingers in world football at the moment but has lost his place in the first team under Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu of late. Though recent reports suggest that he was assured of his place in the side for the new season and that he does not want to quit, one stellar addition to the squad at the Spanish capital will push Bale out of the squad quickly. Even if he stays, a couple of less than impressive performances is bound to make Bale become available in the transfer market, and United will never be too far to steal him away.

Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

The Polish striker is a genuine goal scorer who was one of the most productive players in Europe last season. He is settled at the Allianz Arena and though he was linked with an exit early in the summer, he is now expected to be the first choice for Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern. However, Bayern will look to find another replacement for him quickly, to make sure that they are not light on attacking quality and this might help United land Lewandowski next summer. He will cost loads of money but is more than worth the investment.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

The Portuguese superstar was on the verge of quitting Spain earlier this summer but Zinedine Zidane managed to calm him down and keep him at the club for the season ahead. However, Ronaldo, who has now turned 32, is not going to stay at the Bernabeu for too long and a return to Old Trafford will be ‘a dream come true’. He has a contract with Real that will not run down any time soon but Manchester United will surely put enough pressure on Real to sell, if CR7 decides that his time in the La Liga is up.
