Three Pacey Replacements For Kyle Walker Who Tottenham Can Target

Tottenham Hotspur is one of the many clubs that is busy in the transfer window trying to improve the squad and their finish in the league table last season. Mauricio Pochettino, however, has other issues to worry about, as a couple of his first team stars are wanted elsewhere this summer and one player who is close to an exit is Kyle Walker.

The first choice for club and country, the English international is easily one of the best defenders in the league but is not happy with his situation in London and is ready to switch to Manchester. Pep Guardiola wants him in his side next season and is ready to meet his valuation. So how can Spurs replace him? Here are three pacey alternatives for the right back who Tottenham can consider.

Mattia de Sciglio (AC Milan)

The Italian international is one of the best players in his position in his country and has established himself in the squad for AC Milan and also in the national team. He is versatile and can play in more than one role. His quick movement up and down the right flank could be the perfect replacement for Walker at Tottenham. At just 24, he is the perfect fit for the Spurs’ recruitment model and should be looked at as an option this summer.

Thomas Meunier (Paris Saint Germain)

One of the most exciting right-backs in world football at the moment, Meunier has been in terrific form for his club and country and is the first choice for PSG at the moment. At 25, he is an established star and his tireless work ethic is exactly what Pochettino is looking for. His pace and energy can match what Walker showed in his prime but Spurs might have to shell out some money to land his services this summer.

Nelson Semedo (Benfica)

A player constantly linked with a move to Manchester Utd, Semedo is just 23, but has already established himself as one of the best in Europe. He is versatile and can play on the other wing but is at his best on the right flank, where the Spurs need him the most. He is fast on the turf and is difficult to catch. However, he needs to work on his defending skills. He is a sublime option for Tottenham to replace Walker this summer.
