3 players Arsenal must sign this summer including 25-year-old Stoke City star

Three Players Who Arsenal Must Sign In The Summer

Arsenal are in dire need of a massive rebuild this summer and the upcoming transfer window will be a crucial period for the club. The club finished out of a Champions League spot last season and it seems like they will endure a similar fate this term as well.

To pacify things, it is important for the club to bring in quality players in areas that require strengthening.

With Sven Mislintat at the club, Wenger does have a better chance of landing solid players – a fact that was accentuated when the Gunners made a stunning bid to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window. With that in mind, here are 3 players the club should sign to boost their squad.

Jack Butland – Stoke City

They need a new goalkeeper more than anything else and who better than Jack Butland? Petr Cech’s performances have not been up to the mark lately and even though he boasts of ample experience, Arsenal need a younger and a trustworthy option between the sticks.

The 25-year-old Stoke star has been exceptional for the Potters and has been a figure of reliability for them even through the tough times. He is also one of the most exciting English prospects and he would work well at Arsenal.

Jonny Evans – West Bromwich Albion

Next, it is imperative that the club sign a new central defender. Laurent Koscielny’s performances have been quite poor and Per Mertesacker is set to hang up his boots by the end of this season. That leaves Calum Chambers and Rob Holding, both of whom are relatively inexperienced.

Thus, Evans seems like a good choice. Having played for Manchester United prior to his ongoing stint with the Baggies, Evans is the ideal mix of experience and power and he could bring a lot to the table for Arsenal.

The Gunners have been using a 4-2-3-1 lately but if Wenger chooses to revert to a 3-4-3, he will need added depth in the central defence department, thereby making a stronger case for the club to sign Evans.

Steven N’Zonzi – Sevilla

N’Zonzi is a brilliant defensive-minded midfielder and he could be the solution to Arsenal’s woes in that area. Granit Xhaka has been decent enough for the club but they could use an experienced quality player like N’Zonzi. He is reliable, consistent and can impact the game like no other.

Blessed with technical skills, quick feet and dribbling skills, N’Zonzi can combine his attacking and defensive traits to deliver some spectacular displays. Hence, he could be an excellent summer signing for the Gunners.
