3 Players Arsenal Should Sign To Get The Fans Off Wenger’s Back Including This La Liga Superstar

Arsene Wenger

Even after almost a decade of not winning a Premier League title, Arsenal have stuck with Arsene Wenger and the Frenchman has been on the receiving end on a number of times from the fans. The bane that the Gunner fans have is the lack of proper transfer activity, plugging in the holes when needed, something that Arsene has avoided or missed for some reason altogether.

It isn’t for a lack of funds, Arsene Wenger has consistently stated that the Gunners have the money to bring in players, but he would not spend a ludicrous fee to bring any star into the side. While the transfer window certainly is inflated at the moment, you should and need to pay what the market asks.

There is only so much a fan can take and it does seem that Wenger is testing their patience more than ever. He has to win the Premier League sooner rather than later and here are three players he must sign soon.

Alexandre Lacazette

The Lyon striker has been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 club for a long time and Arsenal are one of the clubs who were linked with the star. Lacazette is one of the hottest strikers in the world and it is no surprise that he is on the wish list of many clubs, Arsenal included.

The Gunners currently have only Olivier Giroud as a top striker and that isn’t good enough for most fans of France, let alone for Arsenal. Lacazette has a great scoring record for the Ligue 1 club having bagged 54 goals in the last two seasons.

He is quick, has a great eye for goal and at only 25 years of age, he can get better with every season. He would want to play at the highest level and Arsenal can provide him that as long as Wenger is willing to spend the big bucks.

Aymeric Laporte

The French defender certainly is one of the best in the world and at 22, he can only get better. While his release clause from Athletic Bilbao is a whopping €65 million, for quality, you have to pay over the odds.

Laporte would be a great signing for Arsenal, given the fact that their central defenders, well at least Per Mertesacker isn’t getting any younger and the Gunners have to find a proper replacement for him and quick.

The likes of Calum Chambers and Gabriel all seem to be stop-gaps at the moment and don’t provide the Gunners with an assured feeling. Laurent Koscielny can only do so much at one time while Rob Holding is still a few years away from becoming a regular for the Premier League team.

Antoine Griezmann

While we spoke about forwards and Lacazette, we should not forget that there is another star in the making that is Antoine Griezmann. The French attacker might be tough to prise away from Atletico Madrid given his affinity towards Diego Simeone but he is one of the top-top talents in the world and if Arsene has to get a few people off his back, this is the signing that they need the most.

The 25-year-old is not only a goal scoring machine but the fact that he can play out wide certainly helps Arsenal more than ever. His tenacity and work rate would fit perfectly for the London club and would give them another star who will not give up till the last whistle, similar to Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal need to spend big in the coming weeks, they might not sign all the three players but they need to make a statement of intent. Manchester United already signed Paul Pogba, even though they might not have needed him, but that is football, sometimes you have to spend big to prove you are there.
