3 Players That Chelsea Need To Axe Next Season

Chelsea have one of the largest squads in the world, we are not only talking about the players in their starting XI but nearly 20 other players who are out on loan at various clubs around the world. This does provide Chelsea a chance to keep an eye on the development of many players who get regular football, but it does put a strain on the finances with so many players on the books.

With more rules coming in FFP and Chelsea trying to run the football club on the finances flowing through the club rather than through the owner, it might be time to cut out on some of the ‘luxury’ players or those who have been taking too much money and providing little on the field for Chelsea, so we have the three players who should be cut from the Chelsea team next season.

Marko Marin

At one time Marin was considered as the German Messi but he has turned into a Messy German, sadly the player has not lived up to his expectations and has spent more time away from Stamford Bridge than playing at it. He is on loan at Anderlecht and seeing him coming back to Chelsea seems like am impossible proposition.

Marin should be sold as soon as possible so that Chelsea can recoup some of the money; it still is a sad thing to see a player who was as talented as Marin gradually succumbing to the pressure of playing football.

Victor Moses

Another big talent who has not lived up to his billing, Moses was one of the bright sparks in a Wigan team that always just about survived in the Premier League and when they got relegated it was Chelsea who snapped him up but his time at Chelsea has been spent more at loan than at home.

He was on loan last season at Liverpool and this season he has been on loan at Stoke City, while he may be enjoying a season at Stoke, he really does not have a future at Chelsea and selling the winger now would be a better option than keeping him in the squad and wasting some space for other talented players.

John Obi Mikel

With Matic and Ramires holding the slot with Fabregas in midfield, it is quite hard to see Obi Mikel getting a lot of game time for the Blues and keeping him in the squad isn’t really worth it anymore. Obi might be able to do a job against certain teams but he has lost a bit of the bite that he was known for.

Chelsea need to make space for their team and moving the Nigerian out of the club is required so that they can get some other players into their squad asap.
