3 Players Who Could Join Pep Guardiola At Manchester United

With news coming in that Pep Guardiola’s future isn’t set at Bayern Munich and he is set to have a discussion about his future at the club with the board, many top teams are now thinking about bringing the talented manager to turn their fortunes around.

The multiple Bundesliga and La Liga winner is being linked with a move to Manchester United with the English club not playing the best football and clearly in need of rejuvenation; Pep could well be the man who turns their season around.

The Spaniard could be looking for a new challenge after turning Bayern into a juggernaut in the Bundesliga and Manchester United fans are already thinking about him moving to the club. The board would give him a sizeable war-chest to revamp the squad, something they did for Louis van Gaal as well.

If the Spaniard does follow suit and joins United there will be a few players that could make the trip across to join him.

Robert Lewandowski

What is Manchester United’s greatest problem at the moment? They cannot score goals and none of their forwards seem remotely possible of doing the feat as well. That could well change if they get the signature of Robert Lewandowski at the club.

The Polish striker was linked with a move away from the club last season but he has shown that he is the man to lead the line at the club. Robert would be a great signing for United, not only would he be scoring the goals that they need, he is a great target man as well and can play in other players into the game.

The 27-year-old wouldn’t come cheap though but Manchester United do have a history of spending big on the players they want and with 48 goals in just 75 games for Munich, who can bet against him doing something similar at United?

Arturo Vidal

Even with the purchases of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, there seems to be something amiss in the midfield for Manchester United. The dynamism isn’t there anymore for the club, more so because Van Gaal seems reluctant to play Morgan or Herrera on a regular basis.

Arturo Vidal could well change all that if he does join the team with Pep. The Chilean is a powerhouse in midfield and is known for his endless running. Vidal isn’t just a tough tackler, he is also known for his range of passing and a ferocious shot.

The 28-year-old Chilean certainly would provide a lot more to the United midfield than Schweinsteiger does and could well be the answer to making the Manchester United team tick from the midfield.

Douglas Costa

Manchester United need a good winger as well. They let go of Angel Di Maria and then also of Adnan Januzaj and Nani but haven’t really gotten proper replacements. Memphis Depay still needs time to develop and for the time being getting the Brazilian Douglas Costa could be the answer to their creative problems out wide.

The pacey 25-year-old might not be in the goals all the time but he does have great ability on the ball and is known for his wicker deliveries into the box. He is a great dribbler as well and can hug the touchline or cut inside, giving defenders a tough time.

Costa again wouldn’t be a cheap signing for Manchester United but you have to fork out for the best players and with Costa still having a few years at the top left in him, he wouldn’t be the worst option for Manchester United under Pep to revitalize their fortunes.
