3 Players Who Could Transform Liverpool Into A Title Winning Side

Liverpool’s 2013-14 EPL campaign has been nothing short of imperious. From outcasts to pace setters in England, Brendan Rodgers’ side currently stand second to Chelsea in the table as they look almost guaranteed for a much awaited Champions League berth for next season. Even the wildest of supporters in the red half of Merseyside wouldn’t have believed this at the start of the season, but  to their credit the Reds have been absolutely prolific this season and have set the pace, scoring goals for fun. Rodgers can ill afford to let slip all the good work from this campaign and must look to build on this as a base for next season Premier League Title credentials. Owner John W Henry has already proclaimed to give his manager a 60m transfer kitty for their charge in the league and we here at Soccersouls provide our readers a look at  three players that Liverpool need for the coming campaign to fight for the title.

1. Ben Davies

The left back slot remains a perennial problem for the Reds with Jose Enrique missing a majority of the campaign thanks to the spell on the sidelines. John Flanagan has admirably filled in the gap and Glen Johnson too has stepped up to the task whenever asked for, but Liverpool need a permanent solution and should not look any further than Swansea’s 20 year old who has become a key part of the Welsh side ever since the long term injury to Neil Taylor. Despite his tender age, he possesses a calm head on young shoulders and has a great understanding of the game as a whole. His age and familiarity with Rodgers will make him an ideal purchase instead of Southampton’s Luke Shaw who will cost 3 times more than him. Make no mistake, his marauding runs up front will only add to Liverpool’s attacking dimension.
