3 Possible Destinations for Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho

The special one was beaten by the normal one and now feels more like the average one. Jose Mourinho’s title defence is in tatters; the Premier League champions suffered a sixth loss in eleven Premier League games as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool racked up three goals at Stamford Bridge.

The aura of invincibility has been wiped off and Chelsea look short of confidence and belief, something that Liverpool were suffering from since that slip by Steven Gerrard. Chelsea fans might have sung that Stevie G song, but it is they who are slipping, actually the team is. With Jose Mourinho adamant that he is going nowhere, the final decision though is not in his hands but in the rather trigger happy hands of Roman Abramovich.

Jose Mourinho might have to make new plans for a club to take over but which club could actually work for the one special one, now fallen one?

Inter Milan

He led Inter Milan to a magnificent treble in 2009 and made them an invincible team, no one has been able to replicate that and the Milan team is a shadow of what they once were under Mourinho. Inter have had a torrid time recently and aren’t even in any sort of European competition this season. Although they are led by a favourite, Roberto Mancini, they wouldn’t mind have Jose Mourinho back into their team.

Italy could be a decent destination for the Portuguese manager and even though he didn’t have the best of relationships with the media there, he could very well head back into a league which prefers a more measured approach in their playing style, rather than the gun-ho attitude of the Premier League.

Real Madrid

Yes, yes, we know the last club he managed was Real Madrid but he was successful there as he was able to break the dominance of Barcelona in La Liga. While it was Carlo Ancelotti who got them La Decima, Jose did do well with the club.

Real might have Rafa Benitez at the helm but you never know with Real what can happen, one thing is a surety, if Rafa does not win a title at Real Madrid this season, he could be the one to be replaced. Jose could well go off to Spain and rekindle his rivalry with Barcelona, the Spanish media and the little dog who wanders around his old home in Madrid, he is Mourinho after all.

PSG

A long shot but Mourinho could well be in the running for the PSG job at the end of the season if Laurent Blanc does not win the league or the Champions League. The owners at PSG would want European success and if Blanc cannot guarantee that, Mourinho could get the job done.

There really aren’t many clubs he could go to; maybe a break for Jose wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. All the top managers nowadays take a break now and then, this could be the time for Jose to relax, unwind and not wind someone else up for once.
